The 3rd Annual Family Fest will make its return to Bridge View Center on Saturday, March 9th, for a fun-filled day of family activities!
Family Fest was originally created in 2017 with one simple goal in mind – to give back to the families of Ottumwa and the entire Southeast Iowa region. The event is one small way for Bridge View Center to thank the community for all of its support throughout the year.
The free Family Fest will include six key pillars for a fun-filled day: Fun, Entertainment, Exhibitors, Safety City, Education, and Health. Within these six key pillars of Family Fest, the full day of activities will provide something for everyone!
Fun: There will be inflatables, bounce houses, games, and other fun activities in the popular fun zone. The fun zone will provide parents and kids a fun way to get some physical exercise and enjoy plenty of activities!
Entertainment: The entertainment stage will celebrate and showcase the youth throughout our region. Entertainment acts may include, but are not limited to, dance programs, music programs, outdoor education, reading programs, scouts, and much more!
Exhibitors: Regional businesses, non-profits, service organizations, and other organizations throughout Ottumwa and the entire Southeast Iowa region will be featured in the exhibitor area.
Safety City: Safety City is an area focused on the law enforcement partners in our communities with two primary purposes. 1 - it provides information on safety to the kids with helpful tips and resources for them. 2 - it celebrates what our law enforcement agencies do for the communities of Southeast Iowa. Kids will have the opportunity to get inside an ambulance, fire truck, patrol car, and/or other law enforcement vehicles while interacting with local law enforcement officials in a positive way!
Education: A progressive partnership has been developed with the South Central Region of the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council to work with Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa Community Schools and other area schools to showcase teachers and students with a focus on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math curriculums!
Health: Health Walk is an interactive area where local providers will have games, activities, and share healthy information with the families of Ottumwa and Southeast Iowa. Wapello County Public Health, Ottumwa Regional Health Center, and River Hills Community Health are significant contributors to Health Walk.
